The Whitefriars name is now synonymous with its bolder, more futuristic "Industrial" variety of art glass that became more prominent from the 20s onward. Vivid, purely Whitefriars hues like Tangerine, Ruby, Cinnamon, Willow grey, Kingfisher blue and Indigo glowed from the depths of simple rounded, angular or often highly textured modern forms, you will find some of these on this blog, please enjoy and leave your comments. Whitefriars Mallet Vase 9818

These are often called the mallet vase or the bottle neck vase, Designed by Geoffrey Baxter for Whitefriars Glassworks, Pattern No 9818 size 7" high the base flat and polished.
From left to right the colours are, Lilac/Sage/Kingfisher Blue/Tangerine/Ruby/Aubergine, there is also a colour in ( Flint) of which i have yet to obtain, should you know of this colour please contact me by clicking on any of the email me icons. Drunken Bricklayer Vase

This is a Tangerine small Drunken Bricklayer height 8.75" designed by Geoffrey Baxter and is one of the most well known iconic vase from the textured range,The texturing on the front of the bricks is from tin tacks hammered into wood. As the mould was used more through the day, it became hotter and the glass flowed better into all parts of the mould, there a few of these being made as fakes so need to looked out for refer to the part on the blog which gives you an idea how to spot a fake.
